Growth Engineering is a high growth technology business that develops award winning learning technology solutions.
Growth Engineering had experienced considerable expansion over the past few years. They were outsourcing their accounting to a local practice firm who were only able to provide a limited and less cost effective solution for the business.
The business needed to bring in a Financial Controller; someone with the expertise, experience and skills to introduce internal systems and processes that would facilitate and support the businesses high growth plans.
First we needed to understand the key challenges the business had been facing and why they had been unsuccessful in their previous attempts to recruit. We quickly found out that they were looking for a certain type of candidate profile without fully assessing what was available on the market.
We discussed the market and managed expectations through conversations around similar roles that we had filled in the past with other businesses.
After understanding exactly what the business needed and what talent was available, we created a job specification that we believed would attract the right type of people to the role.
We began by actively searching and consulting our talent pools to identify the best possible candidates, we also advertised the position on the appropriate job boards to ensure a wide reach.
We met all potential candidates face-to-face to go through their experience and skills set in detail. We dug beneath the CV to find out what made them tick, and what drove them as individuals, ensuring their ambitions and goals were aligned to the business.
Our honest approach added value through triggering conversations around the current market state, the talent available and time/cost considerations, and the candidates we put forward for interview hit the brief.
We successfully placed a Financial Controller into the business and developed an excellent working relationship with Growth Engineering.
