Love them or hate them?
For some they signal tea breaks and toilet runs, while others succumb to laughter and tears, but one thing is for sure; they’re everywhere.
John Lewis recently proved the power of advertising with their infamous Christmas adverts, creating something all advertisers dream of; anticipation for the next one. For several years, their heartfelt efforts brought tears to our eyes but, like most things in the world of marketing, it didn’t last long. The competition grew strong, with Sainsbury’s and ALDI now topping the charts year after year.
Luckily for us, we don’t have to wait another year to see some decent ads, as System1’s FeelMore50 has kindly collated 50 of the most effective adverts of all time. The Hall of Fame is based on the emotional impact the advert has on its audience. Here’s a few of our personal favourites;

Google We Heart Home – Super Bowl
Emotion into action score: 79.20
It’s not easy portraying the emotional value of technology, despite the fact we use it in pretty much every aspect of our life. Nevertheless, Google have hit the nail on the head with this one.
Orbana Good Energy
Emotion into action score: 79.73
Finally, this down to earth advert from Orbana is the epitome of feel good advertising. No tears, no anger, just plain light-hearted fun.
